The Candidate Readiness Kit is a set of free short courses that prepare you for working overseas. Finishing them all earns you the Candidate Ready badge — a strong signal to employers that you are serious and prepared.
What is in the kit
The kit has 10 short courses:
- Ace Your Interview
- Preparing for International Interview
- Australian Workplace Culture
- Understanding Australia
- Understanding New Zealand
- Visa & Immigration Basics
- Driving in Australia
- Workplace Safety in Australia
- Financial Literacy for Expats
- Pre-deployment Seminar
Each course has short videos (called reels) and a small quiz at the end.
Why take the kit
- Earn between 25 and 40 points per course toward your OES.
- Earn the Candidate Ready badge when you finish all 10.
- Earn category badges like Interview Pro, Country Expert, Practical Pro, and Deploy Ready.
- Learn skills that help you in real interviews and your first weeks abroad.
How to start the kit
- Sign in to the portal.
- Open the Courses page.
- Tap Candidate Readiness Kit.
- Tap Pledge to start the kit — this earns you 25 points right away.
- Pick the first course you want to start.
Tip: You do not have to take the courses in order. Pick the ones most useful to you first.
How long does it take?
Each course is short — usually 15–30 minutes of videos plus a quick quiz. You can stop and come back any time. Your progress is saved automatically.
Where can I see my progress?
- Open the Courses page to see which courses you have started, finished, or not yet opened.
- Your OES page shows your category badges and overall progress.
