Are the AI tools really helpful, or just for show?
They are very helpful. The AI Interview Simulator gives feedback that mirrors what real employers look for. The Cover Letter Generator can save you an hour of writing. The Salary Calculator helps you make smart choices.
Is using the AI tools cheating?
No. The tools help you prepare — they do not do the work for you. You still need to speak in your own voice, do your own work, and make your own decisions. Think of them like a tutor.
Will employers know I used the AI tools?
For practice tools (like the AI Interview Simulator and Cover Letter Generator), employers do not see what you did. They only see your final answers, applications, and any official AI Interview Screening result.
How does the AI Interview Simulator score me?
It listens to your answers and looks at:
- How clearly you speak.
- How completely you answer the question.
- Your English level (CEFR).
- Your confidence (tone and body language).
You get an overall score plus tips for what to improve.
What is CEFR?
CEFR is the international scale for English ability:
- A1, A2 — beginner.
- B1, B2 — strong everyday English. Most overseas employers accept B1 or higher.
- C1, C2 — advanced.
If your CEFR is lower than you hoped, practise the simulator again. Most candidates improve quickly.
How accurate is the Salary Calculator?
It uses average numbers for tax, rent, and basic costs. Your real costs may be higher or lower depending on the city, your lifestyle, and the exchange rate on the day. Use it as a guide, not as a guarantee.
Can I use the Cover Letter Generator for any job?
Yes. Pick any job (or paste in a job description) and the generator will draft a cover letter for it. Always read and edit the draft so it sounds like you.
What is the difference between the Interview Simulator and AI Interview Screening (Aria)?
- The Simulator is for practice. The result is private, just for you.
- The AI Interview Screening (Aria) is the real thing. The result counts on your profile and is shared with employers.
Practise on the simulator a few times before doing the real screening.
What is the AI Video Interview (Cyrus)?
Cyrus is a deeper interview that includes a video recording of you answering questions. It is sent to specific employers as part of your application. Like Aria, do the practice simulator first.
Are the AI tools free?
Yes. All AI tools in the portal are free for candidates.
What if the AI gets something wrong?
The AI is not perfect. If you see a clearly wrong answer in your cover letter, or you think your interview score is unfair, contact support — see Contacting Cirrus support.
