What roles require a TRA (Trades Recognition Australia) skills assessment?

If you are applying from the for certain trade occupations, you may be required to complete a TRA skills assessment before proceeding with your application.

If you are applying from the Philippines, certain occupations require a Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) skills assessment, unless an exception applies.

The following roles require a TRA skills assessment:

  • Electrician (General)
  • Electrician (Special Class)
  • Fitter (General)
  • Fitter and Turner
  • Fitter-Welder
  • Joiner
  • Metal Fabricator
  • Metal Fitters and Machinists (nec)
  • Metal Machinist (First Class)
  • Motor Mechanic (General)
  • Panelbeater
  • Pastrycook
  • Program or Project Administrator
  • Sheetmetal Trades Worker
  • Specialist Managers (nec) (excluding Ambassador, Archbishop, and Bishop)
  • Toolmaker
  • Welder (First Class)
