What is PEME and when should it be conducted?

A Pre-Employment Medical Exam (PEME) checks if you are medically fit for work. You should only complete it when your Cirrus Coordinator instructs you to do so.

A Pre-Employment Medical Exam (PEME) is a medical assessment required before employment. It is conducted by an accredited DMW-approved DOH (Department of Health) clinic to determine if you are medically fit for work.

The exam may include different medical tests depending on the requirements of the employer or the destination country.

Why it matters

PEME helps ensure that:

  • You are medically fit to perform the job

  • Employment health requirements are met

  • Any medical concerns are identified before deployment

This is often an important step in the pre-employment process.

When does it apply?

You should only complete a PEME when instructed by Cirrus.

Do not schedule or take a medical exam unless your Cirrus Coordinator tells you to do so.

Not all candidates are required to complete this step at the same time. Your Cirrus Coordinator will advise you when it is the right time to proceed.

How does it work?

The PEME process usually follows these steps:

  1. Cirrus confirms that you need to complete a PEME.

  2. Your Cirrus Coordinator provides instructions and/or a list on where to take the exam.

  3. You attend the medical exam at the designated clinic.

  4. The clinic conducts the required tests.

  5. In many cases, the clinic submits the results directly to you and the appropriate party.

What should you do now?

  • Wait for instructions from your Cirrus Coordinator

  • Follow the guidance provided for scheduling or attending the exam

  • Attend your appointment on time once it has been arranged

What if there is a problem?

Please contact your Cirrus Coordinator as soon as possible if:

  • You did not receive instructions for the medical exam

  • You cannot attend your scheduled appointment

  • You have questions about the required tests
