Medical Exam Report

The Medical Exam Report is a health check from a clinic accredited by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). It is required before most overseas employers can finalise your contract.

What you need

  • A medical exam done at a DMW-accredited clinic. Other clinics are not accepted.
  • The report should include all the tests the destination country requires (this varies — Australia and New Zealand have different rules).

How to book your medical exam

  1. Wait until you reach the Processing stage of your application — it makes no sense to do it earlier as the report has a short validity.
  2. Your Cirrus contact will tell you which accredited clinics to use.
  3. Book the appointment yourself or with help from your Cirrus contact.
  4. Bring your Passport, your OEC (if you have it), and the requirements list given by your clinic.
  5. Fast for 8–10 hours before the test if asked to.

The clinic will give you the report when all results are back. This usually takes a few days.

How to share it with Cirrus

The Medical Exam Report is usually sent straight from the accredited clinic to Cirrus and the employer. You normally do not upload it on the portal yourself.

If your Cirrus contact asks you to send a copy:

  1. Open the Documents page.
  2. Use the Other Document tile to upload the report, or
  3. Send the report file directly to your Cirrus contact.

Make sure your name, the clinic name, and the date of the exam are clear.

Why it might be rejected

  • The clinic is not DMW-accredited.
  • The report is missing tests required by your destination country.
  • The report is more than 3 months old.
  • The photo is blurry or pages are missing.

What if my result is "unfit"?

If you are marked unfit, do not panic. Many issues are temporary (high blood pressure on the day, a recent illness). Speak to your Cirrus contact about whether to retest or treat the issue first.

Cost

You usually pay for the medical exam yourself. Your employer may refund the cost when you start work — check your contract.

Warning: Never use a "guarantee pass" service or a clinic that does not appear on the DMW list. Your application can be cancelled if a fake report is found.
