How to verify your employment contract after changing an employer?

Contract verification is important to ensure the new contract meets the minimum labor standards of both the Philippines and the host country and to protect the workers' rights and welfare. This verification is a mandatory requirement for the issuance of Balik Manggagaw Overseas Employment Certificate (BM-OEC).

How to Verify Your Employment Contract When You Change Employers

If you’ve transferred to a new employer, you must have your employment contract verified by the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) (formerly POLO) before processing your BM-OEC.

Step 1: Gather Required Documents

  • 📄 Original signed employment contract with your new employer
  • 📄 Signed Addendum (Annex A) to comply with DMW requirements
  • 🛂 Copy of valid passport bio page (at least 6 months validity)
  • 🛂 Copy of valid work visa
  • 🏢 Proof of employment (company ID, payslip, or job offer letter)
  • ✉️ Paid self-addressed return envelope
(Include full name, complete address, contact number, and email)
  • 💰 Verification fee: AU$18 (as per 2025 data)
(Payable to MWO – Philippine Embassy via AusPost Money Order or local bank cheque)

Step 2: Send Documents to MWO Via courier to:

MWO, Philippine Embassy Canberra
1 Moonah Place, Yarralumla ACT 2600, Australia

Step 3: Wait for your Verified Contract to be couriered back to you.
